What it is
This is the form a landlord and tenant complete together to record the condition of the unit and everything in it, at the start and end of the tenancy.
When to use it
- At move-in, before you bring your things in.
- At move-out, after the unit is empty and cleaned.
The rule in New Brunswick
An inspection report is recommended, not required, but it is the strongest evidence if a claim is later made against the deposit. Both parties should sign it and keep a copy.
